SPECIAL THANKS |
1st MONTHI see so much of the old Polar coming back. The play barking, rolling on her back (or trying to anyway)and wanting to be with us. Unfortunately, Polar has lost about 10 unneccessary pounds. We will slowly work on that. Not really concerned since the light weight feels better on her hips. She puts little to no weight on her hind feet. I think sometimes when she plays she forgets and uses her back feet some!! ![]() Month 1 Week 1: Yesterday we had a set back. Polar started crying in the morning and I thought perhaps she sat on her hip funny. (not funny ha-ha!!)By last night she was trying to walk on her front paws only. As usual she wanted no one near her. This morning she is in a better mood but still alot of pain. She is sitting on the sofa with her frozen peas but still giving out kisses!! ![]() Month 1 Week 2 A CHANGE!! About 3 days ago my friend told me I should retry the rimadyl. Within 4 hours Polar was walking on all 4's. She had about 3% use of her leg before that--about as much as she did the day she came home from surgery. She looks like she never had surgery. I simply can't get over it. I walked her twice this week at a mile each. She sleeps the rest of the day. I am so happy for my baby. But, I do not look forward to the next surgery. Also I am now hearing a "popping" noise with every step she takes. I am pretty sure it is her other hip popping out of location--ouch!! ![]() Month 1 Week 3 Polar is doing excellent. Putting weight on all 4 paws. She is walking 3-5 miles a week. Sleeping for long periods after her walks. She is running (we are trying to keep her calm but she still has outbursts!!)and jumping. She is able to jump on my high king sized bed. She still is having trouble with steps and goes up sideways and slowly. Everything else is a go though! Go, Polar, go!! ![]() |
